htmlcompendium.org – The Compendium of HTML Elements is an in-depth resource with information on tags, maths, css, servers and more. At this point it is still free, but like many valuable sites hurt by the loss of advertising revenue on the internet recently there is talk of a subscription fee.

SXSW Interactive Conference
Held each March in Austin, Texas, the SXSW Conferences and Festivals include an Interactive Conference with bigname keynoters, lots of panels, design competitions students can enter, trade shows, art shows, parties and lots of networking opportunities. Often the Interactive Conference dates coincide with spring break!
