What are Mac users doing about photos since Google+?
My current status is to use iPhoto and upload what I want to share to Flickr.
Whether Flickr is going to fade away due to neglect on Yahoo’s part, or whether Google+ is going to take over the world – it looks to me like it might be wise to think about an alternative to my current status.
Which brings up the question above. Here are some questions I have.
- Google+ Photos only work with Picasa. Are Mac users installing Picasa in addition to iPhoto?
- Can Picasa import photo albums, modified photos, and folders from iPhoto?
- Is there a way to upload to an online Picasa space from iPhoto?
- Does Picasa import photos from Flickr?
Have you seen posts that answer these questions? (Links welcome, but only one per comment will be allowed by the spam filter.) Are you a Mac user? How are you doing it?
I must say that I am a Mac user but I have never liked iPhoto. I find that it forces me to do stuff I don’t want to do and occupies a lot of space on the hard disk. So I just put my photos in an external hard disk (also have an external backup)
I use flickr uploader to upload things to flickr.
I have downloaded Picasa, but must say that I don’t like the way Google+ is handling photos, forcing you into endless albums. Or maybe they have changed some things about it. Also forcing you to show an album when what you want is show a photo.
I like the size of photo they are showing and the black background.
I have so many photos on flickr that it will be difficult to change. I will only do that when I am sure the features I want are there
